Thanks to help from my mom I created a really cool poodle skirt. Trav and I will be unveiling our outfits at the school carnival this weekend. Pictures to follow.

Do you know what you are going to be?

Human Clue

So once a month our jr. highers get together with other youth groups throughout Spokane and we do a special activity this month was Human Clue.

We did not have the typical characters. Instead we had a Carnival Chris and a Produce Pedro just to name a few. I was blessed with the honor of taking the roll of Sally 2 Scoop. Sally is a high school student working at Maggie Moos Creamery. Here are a few pictures. I am the bright on in the front... kind of hard to miss.

Pastor's Business Card

A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door.

Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote 'Revelation 3:20' on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, 'Genesis 3:10.' Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter.

Revelation 3:20 begins 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock.' Genesis 3:10 reads, 'I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked.'

Puppy time!

Ali is finally home! We brought her home for her first night last night. Lucky everything went well. Chloe and Ali played for awhile before we went to bed. Actually as you can see from some of the pictures it was more just Travis mediating between Chloe and Ali. We are pretty sure that Chloe is just trying to play with Ali, but I am just worried she is going to take out an eye or something because she is so much bigger than Ali right now. So after the “play time” we all headed to bed. Ali whimpered one time and then she was perfectly quiet till 5 when she got up and really had to go to the bathroom. This morning though after only being awake for a hour or so Ali was worn out and took a nap. So far so good… more puppy updates to come.

How cute is she!?!

Ok so I know I have been a blog slacker lately. I have only been a tad busy. Since it had been a month since my last blog post I thought I would catch you up on what I have been up to.

I spent a few days in Milwaukee for a conference. It was a ton of fun and learned a lot, even what to do in a tornado. We don’t have those things up here in Washington and when a tornado warning came I made sure I got directions on what to do from some locals.

Trav and I have been Jr. High youth leaders at our church since September and last week it took our volunteering to a whole new level. We spend the night at the church with 30 Jr. Highers. It was the night where we welcome the 6th graders to Jr. High. It was a ton of fun, but I got little sleep and it is a week later and I am still trying to recuperate. As I get older I realize my body does not bounce back the same.

Trav competes in his first triathlon on Saturday. I will make sure to take pictures and let you know how it goes. He could not get me to one of those even if he drugged me. That whole thing sounds like torture. That’s ok even if I tried it I would drown in the first leg anyways and then I would not have to do the rest. Anyways, he is really excited about it and I know he will do great.

Today is puppy day. Ali will come home to live with us this evening. We are very excited to have her. I am sure we will not sleep much in the next few days. Chole cried her first several nights all night long. I was really starting to think that we would never sleep again. Hopefully Ali does better. I will let you know how it goes.

For the first time!

Ok so my family is really into this blogging thing so I thought I would jump on board. Since I have talked to many of you I have started working at Gonzaga University as an Event Specialist, my dream job. I get to be the "bride" all the time, picking out colors, linens, food, etc. Here is a picture of a recent event I put together. This is Gonzaga's new signature black-tie event called the Ignatian Gala. We had 400 in attendance.

So beyond my great job I am married to a wonderful man and am loving life. We bought a house a year ago and spend most of our days fixing it up. We also have the cutest dog in the world (if I do say so myself) and we have another one that will join the Franklin family very soon.
